We work with adults, teens, and children on a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, identity and sexuality, grief, and life transitions. Each therapist shapes the work around what you actually need — not a one-size protocol.

When communication has broken down or the same conflicts keep resurfacing, couples therapy offers a place to slow down and understand what's happening beneath the surface. We use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and relational approaches to help partners rebuild trust, repair disconnection, and create a more secure bond.

Group therapy offers something individual therapy can't — the experience of being seen, challenged, and supported by a small community of people working on their own growth. Several of our groups meet at our Vista office (15 minutes away), and we can help Carlsbad clients find the right fit.

When you're stuck and need clarity, testing can cut through the confusion. We offer evaluations for ADHD, autism, learning differences, and personality. Intake and feedback sessions can happen in our Carlsbad office; full testing days take place at our Vista location, about 15 minutes east off the 78.
Whether you're seeking therapy or psychological testing in Carlsbad, our care coordinator will help you find the right fit and guide you through the process.
Our Carlsbad office sits on State Street in the heart of Carlsbad Village, next to Maxton Brown Park and overlooking Buena Vista Lagoon. The suite has been home to psychologists since it was built in 1978 — we inherited it from the original tenant in 2022, and it's been our team's clinical home ever since.
This suite has been home to psychologists in Carlsbad since it was first constructed in 1978. We were thrilled to inherit the space in 2022 from the original tenant. Designed with privacy and comfort in mind—with a private exit door and abundant natural light—it immediately felt like the perfect fit for our team of psychologists.
Before moving here, we were based in a smaller suite in the Carlsbad Village area and had our eye on this space for years as the ideal home for our growing practice. The suite includes a large waiting room, five therapy offices, and a private bathroom—providing a calm and welcoming environment for therapy and psychological assessment.
Located on North State Street, our Carlsbad office sits next to Maxton Brown Park—with shaded picnic tables overlooking the Buena Vista Lagoon—and is just steps away from some of the best coffee shops and restaurants in North County San Diego.
Getting here: From the 5 freeway, exit Carlsbad Village Drive, head west toward the ocean, and turn right onto State Street. Free street parking is available on State Street and the surrounding blocks, and a public lot sits one block east.
At CTG, every clinician holds a doctorate in psychology — a PsyD or PhD. That means years of additional supervised training before practicing independently, formal training in psychological assessment and research methods, and the clinical range to match the right approach to the right person rather than defaulting to a single modality.
For Carlsbad residents, working with a local psychologist also means continuity. You're not assigned to someone two counties away who cycles out in six months. You'll see the same person, in the same room, long enough to do work that actually moves the needle.

Psychological testing typically involves three parts: an intake session, a structured testing day or two, and a feedback session. Intake and feedback sessions may be completed in Carlsbad. Longer testing appointments are held at our Vista location, which offers a quiet, dedicated assessment space designed for comprehensive evaluation.
